Steve is a lifelong athlete who believes in maximum commitment and consistency from himself and from his partners.
Steve Neal has been involved in sports in one form or another since the age of 5. Growing up an avid hockey and lacrosse player, he went on to play Junior A lacrosse in Brampton at the age of 16. After a year of Junior A lacrosse he started to focus on training for the sport of cross country skiing which also led to triathlon during the summer months. At the age of 21 went back to lacrosse to play in the inaugural season for Orangeville Northmen Junior B lacrosse in which he was part of the Canadian Championship team. At this time he went back to competing in the sport of cross country mountain bike racing with a personal best of 11th in the Country.
At the age of 23 he started to coach a few National Level mountain bike athletes and helped them to achieve their personal goals. This led to coaching further athletes and eventually the Ontario Provincial coach for mountain bike for 7 years as well as being a private coach for many top Canadian cyclists for over 20 years.
With over twenty years of both competing and coaching in individual and team sports he has a wide variety of knowledge to pass along to all.
Steve’s certifications include:
· Level 3 mountain bike coach
· FaCT level 3 certified test centre
· Level 1 Crossfit Trainer and affiliate owner
· Functional Movement Screen
Steve is very active in coaching in the sport of mountain bike racing and working with both elite level National Team members as well as top masters athletes in Ontario and Canada.
Training hockey and lacrosse players at the minor and elite level is also a specialty of Steve’s. He has trained players at the OHL level that now play in the NHL. His vast knowledge base from years of working with individual athletes and improving their fitness to the highest level brings information to team sports than many trainers and coaches haven’t experienced.
